Rhythmology Flex: A Strength & Flexibility Workshop
Join us for “Rhythmology Flex”- A 5 Week Strength & Flexibility workshop for dancers!
This workshop will combine elements of yoga & pilates with a focus on improving your flexibility and core strength. This workshop is not only for those who want to increase their flexibility but also those who want to improve their movement through daily activities. Stretching is also a great way to alleviate pain and aches that tight muscles can cause the body. Techniques and exercises learned here can be applied to any level/genre of dance. A strong focus will be put on core strengthening and balance.
This will be an open class so drop ins are welcome or sign up for all 5 weeks! When participating, please make sure to bring a mat and a towel, we will be doing some floor work.
Reminder: We will be working on your flexibility so please no jeans or dresses. Make sure to wear comfortable /stretchy (workout) clothing.
Day: Saturdays 11am-12pm

Instructor: Simone Ousset Kuranishi
Cost: $20 per class or $75 for 5 weeks

About the instructor: Simone Ousset Kuranishi is a licensed Yoga RYT200 instructor and holds a Licentiate in Theatre Arts. She has a B.A. in Forensic Psychology from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a M.S. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Hofstra University. Simone is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Special Education.
She taught for over ten years in NYC public schools as well as private studios on Long Island. Simone instructs group and individual students in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, contemporary, ballroom and Latin dance. She also teaches yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.
Simone has performed for the New York Knicks, Walt Disney World, the Orange Bowl Halftime Show, and the Long Island Symphony Orchestra’s Nutcracker Ballet. She has also competed professionally in American Rhythm.
